How to Find Torchic in Pokemon: HeartGold

Torchic is a chicken Pokemon that has fire attacks in "Pokemon: Heart Gold." Weighing only five pounds and standing little more than a foot tall, Torchic cannot be earned from random encounters in the "Heart Gold" version of the series. Earning Torchic makes it impossible for the player to select a few other Pokemon in the game. Torchic eventually evolves into Combusken at level 16 and then Blaziken at level 36. Torchic's beginning attack abilities include "Scratch" and "Growl."

Instructions

  Travel to Mt. Silver, which is located in the Johto region near the center of the large continent on your map. Mt. Silver is located west of Viridian City and southwest of Indigo Plateau. This should be done after you have already faced the Elite Four. Mt. Silver is the game's final challenge.

  Enter Mt. Silver. One of your Pokemon should know the ability "Rock Climb" to get through the cave. Navigate through the cave until you reach the Mt. Silver Summit. Walk to Red and speak to him to initiate a battle. Defeat Red.

  Release the Pokemon Latios if you have it. Leave one spot in your Pokemon party empty and travel to Saffron City, located in the Kanto region. The Kanto region is located near along the south-central shoreline of the large continent on your map. Saffron City is located north of Vermilion City and east of Celadon City.

  Enter the Silph Co. building in Saffron City and travel to the right of the building. Speak to Steven Stone. He will offer you a choice from among three Pokemon, including Torchic, Mudkip and Treecko. Select Torchic.
