How to Get a Metang in Pokemon Pearl

There are some Pokémon you cannot capture in the wild; instead, you must evolve them from other Pokémon, which level up to a new and stronger form when they meet certain prerequisites. Metang is one of these Pokémon in "Pokémon Pearl." To get a Metang, you must evolve one from a Beldum, which is not available until very late in the game -- but Metang is worth the wait; as a Psychic/Steel-type Pokémon, he is resistant to most attacks, while also possessing strong offensive capabilities, thanks to his Psychic moveset.

Instructions

  Capture a Beldum, if you do not already have one. Beldum appears as part of the Pokémon Swarm once you defeat the Elite Four and obtain the National Dex.

  Place Beldum at the front of your Pokémon lineup; this will ensure that he gets experience points from battles with wild Pokémon and other trainers.

  Gain enough experience points for Beldum to reach level 20. Once he does, he will automatically evolve into Metang.

  Gain enough experience points for Metang to reach level 45. Once he does, he will automatically evolve into Metagross.
