Tricks for Harry Potter on Nintendo DS

There are five Harry Potter video games available for the Nintendo DS, four of which follow the storylines of the four most recent movies as of 2011. The other, "Lego Harry Potter: Years 1 to 4," is a Lego-themed version of the first four books in the series. There are a range of hints and tricks available for each game.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- Attack Fire Salamanders with the Aqua spell as this will instantly kill them. If you meet a Fire Salamander before you acquire the Aqua Spell, use your Confundus spell as it is effective against this enemy.
  
  Collect each of the 74 Collector Cards to unlock a gallery of photos from the movie "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Gather each of the 99 Tri-Wizard Shields to unlock the game's cut scenes, meaning you can watch them whenever you like.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
- Use the Wingardium Leviosa spell on a table in the great hall three times to make the table dance. You also receive a new spell to use named Ratados, which makes your opponents feel dizzy.
  
  Discover all 12 portrait passwords to receive the Portrait Password Cup. Carry out all of your 66 chores, and you will be rewarded with the School Pride Cup. Use each defensive spell in six separate duels to earn the Defense against the Dark Arts Cup.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
- Defeat enemies with ease using three basic steps. Topple your enemy to the floor using Expelliarmus, charge your Stupefy as you approach your foe and fire the spell when you are as close as possible. Go the Viaduct and look for three bookcases. Each one contains a great deal of Wizard Cards.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
- A Patronus shows up in the forest in Level 17, and you have to follow it. When you encounter giant spiders along the way, don't stop to fight; running straight through the arachnids is quicker and easier.
  
  Select "Option" in the main menu, followed by "Unlock Menu." Enter "WNVTKS" to unlock the Elite Challenges, "BKTDSL" to unlock Super strength Potions and "WNVTKS" for Impedimenta Maxima.
Lego Harry Potter: Years 1 to 4
- In Level 7 of the Sorcerer's Stone, Malfoy steals Neville's Membrall and flies away on his broom. When he swoops down around a tree, go the opposite way around to catch him quickly.
  
  Go to the Leaky Cauldron and head to the Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment in the hub area. Enter the code "ERA9DR" to receive the Glacius spell, "YZNRF6" for the Trip Jinx spell and "2M2XJ6" for the Locomotor Mortis spell.
