How to Get to Mt. Mortar in Pokemon: SoulSilver Version

After completing the main quest in the 2010 game "Pokemon SoulSilver" for the Nintendo DS, you can expand the game by taking part in several side quests. One of these leads you deep into Mount Mortar, a winding labyrinth containing some tough foes. You will need to assemble a strong team before you head here, and must earn the Earth Badge so you can climb the rocky slopes.

Instructions

- 1
  Defeat Blue in the Viridian Gym on Cinnibar Island to get the Earth Badge, which gives your Pokemon the Rock Climb ability.

  Prepare your team and heal all members. Fly to Ecrutreak City.
- 3
  Move east to the tollbooth that leads to Route 42.
- 4
  Go east on Route 42 toward Mount Mortar. Just before you reach a small lake, take the first entrance into the mountain.
- 5
  Reach the first challenger inside Mount Mortar by first going north and entering another cave. Head to the east and you will encounter a Pokemaniac, whom you must duel.
