How to Get to Mewtwo in Pokemon HeartGold

Mewtwo is one of the most powerful Pokemon in "Pokemon: HeartGold." It was created by Team Rocket scientists to surpass the ancestor of all modern Pokemon, Mew. Mewtwo is available to players in Cerulean Cave. Players are only allowed access to the cave after they have proven themselves by defeating all eight of the Pokemon gyms in the Kanto region. A man blocks the entrance to the cave unless players meet these specifications.

Instructions

  Defeat all eight Pokemon gyms in the Kanto region and the Elite Four.

  Fly to Cerulean City.

  Walk north to the bridge. Use the move Surf on the water to the west of the bridge.

  Swim over to the patch of land with a cave entrance. Speak to the man guarding the entrance and he will move aside. Enter the cave.

  Use the move Flash if you have a Pokemon that knows it. This will give you a better view of where you are.

  Walk forward and use Surf on the water. Swim all the way north, then go west. Find the stairs leading up from the water and land there. Do not go up the ladder that is right where you land. Follow the path in a counter-clockwise pattern. Go up the ladder that is right in front of the wooden bridges.

  Follow the path from the ladder. Go north at the first fork in the path and east at the second fork. Follow the path as it winds around to another ladder. Go down that ladder.

  Walk south and go down the nearest ladder.

  Go north and follow the path. It will lead to water, so use Surf.

  Swim northeast until you reach land. Follow the path until it reaches water again.

  Use Surf and go east at the very first inlet. Follow the path for a few steps and Mewtwo will be right in front of you.
