How To Catch Dragonair in Pokemon Pearl

Dragonair, one of the original three Dragon-type Pokemon, is a rare beast to find in "Pokemon Pearl" for the Nintendo DS. It is a strong, slender dragon that is resistant to all attack types excluding Ice and Dragon. The ability to evolve into the mighty Dragonite at level 55 makes Dragonair a valuable monster for Pokemon Trainers to catch. Set aside some time, as fishing a Dragonair from the depths of Mount Coronet may take some time.

Instructions

  Obtain the Super Rod at the Fight Area after defeating the Elite Four at the end of the game. Talk to the fishermen on the left side of the area by the bay to find the one who will give you the Super Rod. Some Pokemon, such as Dragonair, can only be caught by fishing with the Super Rod.

  Return to Mt. Coronet and venture down to the fourth basement level of the mountain.

  Use the Super Rod item while facing any of the pools of water on this level of the mountain cave. If you have a Pokemon on the line, an exclamation mark will appear over your character's head. Press the "A" button to reel it in to battle and capture it in a Pokeball.

  Fish in different spots on the fourth basement level. Try fishing from the back of a surfing Pokemon for additional fishing spots. Finding a Dragonair may take some time. There is only a five percent chance of encountering one by fishing with the Super Rod.
