How to Get Tangela in Pokemon Pearl

"Pokemon Pearl," along with its counterpart "Pokemon Diamond," is a top-down role-playing game for the Nintendo DS. The aim of the game is to capture and train special monsters called "Pokemon" that are used in battle against other Pokemon trainers. One of the Pokemon in the game is named "Tangela" and resembles a mass of tangled purple vines with feet and eyes. While Tangela was fairly easy to get on previous Pokemon titles, the only way to get it in "Pearl" is when it swarms, or by importing it from the other games.

  Play the game until you receive the National Pokedex. This can take a while, as you will have to have seen all 150 of the Pokemon in the Sinnoh area; this is done by defeating all the trainers and beating the "Elite Four."

  Go to Sandgem Town and enter the house of your rival. You will find your rival's sister standing next to the table.

  Talk to the girl to find out in which areas the Pokemon are swarming. This is random and changes every day, so if Tangela is not one of the ones swarming, change the date on your DS or try again the next day.

  Travel to the area where the girl tells you "a whole bunch of Tangela" are found, and catch one using a standard PokeBall.
