How to Get Giratina Origin in Pokemon Platinum Version

"Pokemon Platinum" was released in 2009 for the Nintendo DS. An upgraded version of both "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Platinum" included new story elements and a new form of the legendary Pokemon, Giratina. The Giratina origin form sacrifices defense for offense, so while it has a powerful attack, it is quick to fall in battle. You will only have one chance to catch the origin form of Giratina when it is encountered.

Instructions

  Travel to the Distortion World, located at the Spear Pillar. If you are following the "Pokemon Platinum" story, you will be taken here near the end of the story.

  Navigate through the Distortion World, until you reach the bottom.

  Battle Galactic Boss Cyrus. Cyrus uses five Pokemon, ranging in levels from 46 to 48. Any Pokemon level 48 or higher should be sufficient in defeating them.

  Speak to Cynthia to heal your Pokemon, once Cyrus is defeated.

  Walk forward to the platform in front of you to battle Giratina in its origin form. Giratina is a level 47 Dragon/Ghost legendary Pokemon. It is weak to Ice, Ghost and Dark Pokemon and attacks.

  Use any Status Moves your Pokemon have when fighting Giratina. Status Moves are any move that change the status of a Pokemon, such as making them paralyzed or fall asleep.

  Use your strongest Pokeballs, such as the Ultra Ball, on Giratina when its health bar is in the red. Its health will be listed underneath its name. It may take more than one ball to capture Giratina. When captured, it will still be in its origin form.
