How to Make Eggs in Soul Silver

Eggs in "Pokemon SoulSilver" are the product of a male and female Pokemon breeding at the Pokemon Daycare Center. A Pokemon egg produced in this way will eventually hatch to give you a young version of the mother Pokemon in its most basic evolutionary form. The two parent Pokemon must be in the same egg group to be compatible for breeding. There are thirteen egg groups in total, a list of which can be found in the Resource section. Pokemon that are raised from an egg have better stats than those caught in the wild.

Instructions

  Obtain a male and a female Pokemon that have an egg group in common.

  Go to the Pokemon Daycare Center to the south of Goldenrod City on route 34 and enter it.

  Talk to the old lady inside and give her the male and female Pokemon breeding partners.

  Exit the Pokemon Daycare Center and talk to the old man outside. If he says "They prefer to play with other Pokemon than each other," the two Pokemon you have picked will not breed. In this case find another compatible pair and repeat the process. Any other response means that an egg will be produced.

  Walk 256 steps in the game and then return to the Pokemon Daycare Center. Talk to the old lady to see if an egg has been made. If no egg has been produced, walk another 256 steps and then return. Continue this process until your Pokemon couple produce an egg.
