How to Use the PokeRadar Poke Tech App

The Poketech application is an integral part of the Nintendo DS games, Pokemon Pearl, Diamond, Black and White. The application takes up the space on the bottom DS screen and is operated by touching the screen. In Pearl, the Poketech consists of 25 applications, including the PokeRadar, an application that helps you track Shiny Pokemon. The key item is found in Sandgem Town and requires at least 150 Pokemon and a National Dex.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your Pokemon game into your Nintendo DS and turn it on by sliding the power switch.

    • 2

Move your player character into the tall grass by pressing the arrow buttons. In most cases, you cannot use the PokeRadar inside any buildings.

    • 3

Open the menu button by pressing "Y" and scroll to "Key Items." Press "A" and scroll to "PokeRadar." Press "A."

    • 4

Watch the top screen of your DS to determine if the grass rustles or shines. Move your player character to the area of the rustling or shine. You should enter a battle with the Pokemon automatically.

    • 5

Chain Pokemon by encountering the rare Pokemon over and over, using the PokeRadar. Select the "Super Repel" item using the menu and walk through the grass or path for 50 steps to recharge the PokeRadar. Select the PokeRadar and watch for glittering or rustling grass. Move the area of the glittering or rustling and enter the Pokemon battle. Complete the battle to catch the Pokemon or make it faint. Repeat this process to increase your chain.

    • 6

Track your PokeRadar progress using the "Trainer Counter." Look at the bottom screen of your Nintendo DS and press the red scroll bar until you reach the Trainer Counter application. The screen displays your best chain with a picture of the Pokemon and the number.
