How to Catch Dialga & Palkia in Platinum

In the "Pokemon" series, Dialga and Palkia are legendary beasts that can warp time and space. In "Pokemon Diamond," you can only capture Dialga, while in "Pokemon Pearl, you can only capture Palkia; however, if you own "Pokemon Platinum," you have the opportunity to catch both of them. Dialga and Palkia possess rare type combinations and unique attacks, so they will make powerful additions to your Pokemon team.

Instructions

Set Up
- 1
  Defeat the Elite Four and the Pokemon Champion at the Pokemon League.

  Complete the Sinnoh Pokedex by encountering 210 species of Pokemon.

  Upgrade to the National Pokedex by visiting Professor Rowan's laboratory.

  Travel through Mt. Coronet and collect the Adamant Orb and Lustrous Orb. Both items are in a cave near the top of the mountain. Use the Surf and Waterfall techniques to reach the entrance.

  Travel to Celestic Town and talk to Cynthia's grandmother. She will tell you to journey to the Spear Pillar, an area at the summit of Mt. Coronet.
Capturing Dialga
- 6
  Enter the blue portal at Spear Pillar. You will encounter Dialga.

  Attack it until its health bar is nearly empty. Then, use an attack that will put the monster to sleep or paralyze it. For example, use Thunderwave or Sleep Powder.

  Throw Ultra Balls until you capture Dialga.
Capturing Palkia
- 9
  Exit the Spear Pillar area. When you return, a pink portal will appear. Enter it to meet Palkia.

  Lower its health and inflict a status ailment such as paralysis or sleep.

  Throw Ultra Balls until Palkia surrenders.
