How to Find the Pokeradar

"Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Platinum" are three similar role-playing games on the Nintendo DS handheld gaming system. The games feature a tool called the Pokeradar, which allows players to find wild Pokemon to battle and hopefully catch. You automatically get the Pokeradar when you receive the National Pokedex after beating the game's story and seeing all of the Pokemon in the original Sinnoh Pokedex. Diamond and Pearl each have 150 Pokemon you must see before getting the National Pokedex, while Pokemon Platinum has 210.

Instructions

    • 1

Play through the game's story until you've beaten the Elite Four at the end of the game. By the time you finish the game's main story, you should have most of the game's Pokemon recorded in your Sinnoh Pokedex.

    • 2

Travel to Sandgem Town after your Pokedex reaches 150 in "Pokemon Diamond" or "Pokemon Pearl" or 210 in "Pokemon Platinum."

    • 3

Walk toward the top of the town and enter Professor Rowan's laboratory. Talk to Professor Rowan and he'll acknowledge that you've completed the Pokedex if you've seen enough Pokemon. Continue to talk and Professor Oak will walk in. By the end of the conversation, Professor Oak will give you the National Pokedex. Acquiring this also gives you the Pokeradar.

    • 4

Open your inventory's "Key Items" slot and activate the newly acquired Pokeradar near grass. Look for any shaking tiles of grass and check those tiles to battle a wild Pokemon.
