How to Receive a Team on Blue Mystery Dungeon

The "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon" games have the player directly controlling a group of Pokemon, rather than a human Pokemon Trainer. "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team" has the player investigating a massive dungeon with many areas, each of which is crawling with wild Pokemon. These wild Pokemon can be recruited to the player's team, but to win them over to your side, you will have to satisfy several criteria.

A purchased Friend Area
Enough room in your party to accomodate the new recruit

Instructions

  Purchase a Friend Area from Wigglytuff. In your headquarters, you can speak to Wigglytuff and unlock Friend Areas in exchange for money. Each Friend Area corresponds to a specific area on the map. Once purchased, Pokemon you encounter in the area will be able to join your party if the other recruitment requirements are met.

  Find the wild Pokemon you wish to recruit. The Pokemon must be standing adjacent to your leader for recruitment to be possible.

  Fight and defeat the wild Pokemon, with your leader dealing the final blow. If your leader does not finish off the wild Pokemon, it will not join your team.

  Whether the wild Pokemon will join your group is randomized, and affected by recruitment bonuses. If you are lucky, the wild Pokemon will ask to join your team. If not, find the wild Pokemon again and repeat this encounter.
