How to Use a CycloDS Evolution in Your DSI

The "CycloDS Evolution" allows your Nintendo DSi to use homebrew applications as well as play DS games, which you can get on the PC as files with a .nds extension. You can listen to MP3s and other media files using the CycloDS media player called "Moonshell". You'll need to buy a Micro Secure Digital (MicroSD) card to transfer data to the CycloDS. The MicroSD card is used to store all of your games and music.

How to Run Games and Applications

  Insert the MicroSD card into the USB card reader supplied with the "CycloDS Evolution" and connect it to your computer.

  Select "Open folder to view files" from the auto-play menu. If the auto-play menu doesn't pop up, you can find the card listed as an external device in "My Computer".

  Copy any files that you want to use on the Nintendo DSi into the main directory of the card. This includes .nds files.

  Remove the MicroSD card from the computer, and insert it into the slot on the "CycloDS" cartridge. Put the cartridge in your DSi.

  Switch on your DSi and select "CycloDS Evolution" from the start menu.

  Select "Games/Homebrew" to access the files that you copied onto the MicroSD card.

  Select any .nds file from this menu to run that game or application.
How to Listen to Music

  Download the "Moonshell" DS multimedia player for the "CycloDS Evolution". You can find it on the official "CycloDS" website. Double click on the .exe file to extract the files to a folder location of your choice.

  Connect your MicroSD card to your computer through the USB reader. Double click on the "setup.exe" file in the newly created "Moonshell" folder, and select to install "Moonshell" to "Removable Disk". Click "Install".

  Remove the MicroSD card from the computer after the install has finished. Plug it into your "CycloDS Evolution". Insert the CycloDS into your DSi. Turn on the DSi and select "CycloDS Evolution". Select "Games/Homebrew", and find "Moonshl2" in the list. Open it and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

  Plug the MicroSD card back into your computer and copy the music or media files you want to play through the DSi into the main directory of the card, in the same way that you'd copy games or applications.

  Insert the MicroSD card back into your CycloDS. Put your CycloDS into your DSi and run Moonshell from the Games/Homebrew menu. Find the music or media you added from the menu at the top of the screen, and press "A" to play the file that you want.
