How to Put the NDS in Sleep Mode

The Nintendo DS was released in the US in 2004. Once you have activated sleep mode, your game is frozen, or paused, until you resume play. This feature is useful when you need to take a break from your game, but you have not yet saved your data. Sleep mode consumes very little battery life, allowing you to come back hours later, to continue your game.

Instructions

      Start a Nintendo DS game. Any game is able to enter sleep mode, as long as it is a Nintendo DS game.

      Fold the top screen down at any time during the game. A chime will play and sleep mode will be activated. The battery light on the NDS will blink green.

      Open the Nintendo DS to exit sleep mode and resume your game. A chime will play, and your game will pick-up, exactly where you left off.
