How to Get the Helix Fossil in Platinum

"Pokemon: Platinum Version" features a "Distortion Zone" and a "Wi-Fi Plaza" that allows up to four players to participate in mini-games. One of these mini-games involves digging for underground treasure, and the Helix fossil is one of the buried treasures. Certain requirements must be met before you can look for the Helix fossil, and it will only be found randomly when you're digging. The rare Helix fossil evolves into an Omanyte, which later evolves into a Pokemon called "Omastar" once it reaches level 40.

  Complete the Sinnoh Pokedex to get access to the National Dex. You must see all 210 Pokemon characters during the course of the game to complete the Sinnoh Pokedex. You'll automatically receive the National Dex after seeing all 210 characters.

  Travel to Eterna City and go to the right of the Pokemon Center. Talk to the Underground Man. He will give you an Explorer Kit that allows you to dig underground.

  Launch the local Wi-Fi for the Nintendo DS any time your character is outside to access the underground area. Treasure locations will pop up on the map as you walk through the underground.

  Use the pick-ax to dig when the treasure is under weak ground, and use the hammer to dig when the treasure is under harder ground (or when you need to clear a larger area). The Helix fossil is randomly available in one of the treasure locations, so keep digging underground until you find it.
