The Capacity of an R4DS Microchip

Commonly known as "R4DS", Revolution for DS is a storage device used with the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite. The device stores saved files for later usage and contains game cheats supplied by Action Replay. The microchip in the R4DS does not store data on its own; rather, data is stored on MicroSD cards which are inserted into the unit.

    • Saved game data and other files are not stored on the microchip of the R4DS. The R4DS is used in tandem with a MicroSD cards. The microchip supports MicroSD cards of any speed that range between 128 megabytes and 4 gigabytes, which is the maximum amount of storage supported by the R4DS.

    Compatibility

    • The microchip in the R4DS can handle the capacity of MicroSD cards of any speed without affecting game play. It also supports the Nintendo DS' Wi-Fi capability, rumble pack and touch-screen browser. R4DS also supports every region, so it can be used on any DS or DS Lite device from around the world.

    Software Updates

    • The R4DS operating system, also known as "firmware", may be upgraded, which enhances game play experience. Firmware updates allow users to use the R4DS on the newest versions of the Nintendo DS.
