How to Receive Claw Fossils

One of the classic choices a Pokemon Trainer has to make in every "Pokemon" videogame is to pick between two fossils to keep and restore. Since the release of "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire" for the Game Boy Advance, players could access the Claw Fossil. After the Claw Fossil is dropped off at a museum, it would soon be returned to the player as a revived ancient Anorith. This valuable Rock and Bug creature transforms into the powerful shrimp-like Armaldo. The method to obtain a Claw Fossil is different for each of the games.

Instructions

    • 1

Smash rocks in the 'Cliff Cave' that is located in "Pokemon HeartGold." Face breakable rocks and use the move 'Rock Smash' to see if it contains a Claw Fossil. This game's counterpart, "Pokemon SoulSilver" does not contain Claw Fossils.

    • 2

Use the Explorer Kit in "Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Platinum" to enter 'The Underground'. Dig into bulges in the cavern walls to start an excavating mini-game. Tap the screen to remove rocks from the fossils and other treasures to claim them. The Claw Fossil appears more frequently in "Pokemon Diamond."

    • 3

Enter the 'Desert Underpass' found at the end of Route 111 in "Pokemon Ruby" or "Pokemon Sapphire." Choose the Claw Fossil at the end of the cave. The remaining Root Fossil will sink back into the sand and become unobtainable.
