How to Play the Nintendo DS Wiffle Ball Game

The Nintendo DS Wiffle Ball game made a name for itself as one of the most hard-to-control games available for the portable system. Much of the confusion lies in the batting portion. For instance, because the pitcher does not automatically throw the ball, you must signal the game to begin pitching. Take the time to learn the game's controls before hopping into a virtual backyard game of wiffle ball.

Instructions

  1. Game Setup

    • 1

Choose either "Quick-Play" or "Season Mode." Season Mode enters you in a virtual league in which you play various computer teams vying for the title. Quick-Play starts a single match.

    • 2

Choose your character. Browse players by tapping the arrow icons with your stylus. Tap "OK" to make a selection.

    • 3

Select a field. Scroll through the fields by tapping the arrow icons. Choose "OK" to make a selection. This option only applies in Quick-Play. Your fields are chosen automatically in "Season Mode."

    Batting

    • 4

Line up your batter to the plate by using the directional pad. Use the left and right arrow keys to reposition the batter.

    • 5

Hold your stylus down in the red batter's box. The pitcher throws the ball.

    • 6

Glide the stylus upward on the touchscreen to swing as the ball crosses the plate.

    Pitching

    • 7

Select your pitch from the "Pitch Name" menu.

    • 8

Select the speed of the pitch by tapping a spot on the "Speed Bar."

    • 9

Choose your pitch's location by tapping a spot in the batter's box.

    • 10

Tap the red square at the bottom of the screen to throw the pitch.
