How to Get to Level 8-7 on the New Super Mario Bros.

Level 8-7 is the fourth-to-last level in "New Super Mario Bros." for the Nintendo DS. The stage features three types of enemy "Bros": the Sledge Bro, the Fire Bro and the Boomerang Bro. Players must defeat two Bros of each type, as well as Paratroopas and Koopa Troopas, and traverse the many moving platforms to reach the flagpole. The level pays homage to the "Hand" levels in World 8 of "Super Mario Bros. 3" and can only be accessed by defeating Level 8-6.

Instructions

- 1
  Enter Level 8-6. Head left, and follow the path up to the "?" block. Jump through the ledges and the narrow gap above. Enter the pipe, and go down the steps to obtain the first Star Coin.

  Go up the steps, and jump through the thin platform. Climb the hill, defeating Goombas as necessary, and obtain the power-up from the "?" block.

  Take the first two Spin Blocks to reach the platform above. Avoid or defeat the Paratroopa and take the third Spin Block to reach the northwest platform. Ground-pound the blocks to obtain the second Star Coin.

  Jump up through the small ledges, and head left until you emerge on the right side of the screen. Take the Spin Block to reach the upper area. Jump onto the red platforms one by one until you reach the fourth platform, and jump through the gap on the right to obtain the third Star Coin.
- 5
  Jump up through the ledges, and enter the pipe. Jump onto the flagpole to reach Level 8-7.
