How to Get Heracross & Munchlax in Pokemon Pearl

Though most of the Pokemon in "Pokemon Pearl" live in tall grass, some species hide in less obvious locations. Players looking to capture the Heracross and Munchlax species must look not on the ground but in the trees. Traveling to special trees around the world and slathering them with honey will lure out several rare types of Pokemon, including these two. Capturing them requires finding the honey, locating a tree and waiting for a Pokemon to appear.

Instructions

- 1
  Travel to Floaroma Meadow. Find the man under attack by Team Galactic and rescue him to earn a single "honey" item. After saving him, he will sell additional honey for 100p each.

  Visit any honey tree in the game world. You can find a honey tree on nearly every route in the game. Identify it by its gold color.

  Stand in front of a honey tree and press "A." The game will ask if you want to put your honey on the tree. Select "Yes" and hit "A."

  Leave the area and wait several hours. After about eight to 12 hours, return to the tree. During this time you can either explore other areas or save and turn off the game.

  Approach the tree and press "A" to enter a battle against one of several Pokemon. Heracross and Munchlax are the two rarest honey tree Pokemon, so you will have to apply honey to many trees before you encounter them.

  Capture Heracross or Munchlax as usual once you find one. Attack the Pokemon until its health bar turns yellow or red, then throw Poke balls until you catch it.
