How to Plunder the City in Sid Meier's Pirates! on the Wii

In "Sid Meier's Pirates" for the Nintendo Wii, you can live the life of a pirate, including plundering towns: one of the quickest ways in the game to amass a large amount of gold and goods. The Wii version of "Sid Meier's Pirates" takes advantage of the Wii Remote when plundering a town, offering mechanics not seen in the other versions of the game. Rather than use a strategical land battle minigame like the Xbox or PC versions, the Wii version offers an auto-scrolling minigame where the objective is to destroy as much of the town as you can with your cannons.

Instructions

    • 1

Harass the town you want to attack, such as destroying ships leaving the town and shooting the town's forts with your cannons. Once the town opens fire on you, you receive the option to attack the town.

    • 2

Sail into town and select the "Attack the town" option that appears on-screen.

    • 3

Aim your ship's cannons with the Wii Remote.

    • 4

Press the "A" button to fire all of your cannons at once or press the "B" button to fire only one cannon.

    • 5

Decrease the town's life bar in the upper right corner of the screen to win the battle. Deplete the life bar by aiming for the town's cannons, identifiable when the crosshair turns red, and the town's houses, identifiable when the crosshair turns yellow.
