RVLSWC
The code RVLSWC serves as a simple code for retailers to identify the most common variation of the Wii console, model number RVL-001, originally released in November of 2006. This version of the console comes in glossy white and features backwards compatibility with Nintendo GameCube games and controllers. It includes a base to accommodate horizontal orientation and a standard Wii remote without Wii MotionPlus functionality. RVL-100 Series
Wii model number RVL-101 kicked off the RVL-100 series of the Wii. Known as the ̶0;Wii Family Edition,̶1; this console -- the first major revision of the Wii -- hit the market in October 2011. The Family Edition launched at $150 and includes a Wii remote with Wii MotionPlus functionality. As of February 2012, Nintendo has not announced any further entries in the RVL-100 series of Wii consoles.
