How to Remove the TP Hack From a Wii

The TP Hack, commonly called the "Twilight" or "Princess Twilight Hack," modifies and exposes the software of the Wii, allowing you to cheat and beat games. The hack may cause certain games to not function or prevent you from downloading updates to your system. The only way to completely remove the TP Hack from your Wii is by reformatting the memory of your system. Reformatting your Wii causes you to lose all saved information on the device.

  Power on the Wii console.

  Move the cursor of the Wii remote over the ̶0;Wii̶1; button located in the bottom left of the Wii "Home" screen. Press the ̶0;A̶1; button on the remote. The Wii "Main Menu" screen appears.

  Move the cursor of the remote over the ̶0;Wii Settings̶1; icon indicated by a wrench. Press the ̶0;A̶1; button on the remote. The "System Settings" screen appears.

  Click the left blue arrow located in the bottom of the screen two times to access the Wii "System Settings 3" menu.

  Click the ̶0;Format Wii System Memory̶1; option.
