Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set Up Internet
Click on the "Wii" button in the lower left corner of the screen from the Nintendo Wii's main menu, then select "Wii Settings."
Choose "Internet" from the options and select "Connection 1."
Click either "Wired" or "Wireless," depending on your connection type, then click "Search for Access Point" if using a wireless connection.
Select the wireless access point you want to connect to, then type in the password or key if necessary. Then click "OK," followed by "Save Settings," then exit the menu by press the "Home" key on your Wii remote.
Activation Issues
Enter the activation code from a different device than the Nintendo Wii if you receive the message "The code you entered has expired." If you attempt to use the Wii's Internet channel to access your Netflix profile to enter your activation code, it will not work. Open Netflix on a computer or smartphone, go to the Netflix activation page, then enter the code that is on the Wii screen after installing Netflix on the system.
Turn off other devices that are using bandwidth on your Internet connection, such as other consoles for online gaming or computers that are downloading files if you receive the message "Your internet connection has slowed. We are adjusting playback to avoid further interruption." Netflix requires a minimum of a 3G wireless cell phone connection or satellite Internet, but is best on broadband connections such as DSL and cable.
Try accessing a different movie or television show if you get the message "This title is temporarily unavailable while we improve the media quality. We expect it to be available for streaming in the next day or so." That is a problem on Netflix's end, and you'll just have to wait it out.
