Linking a Wiimote to a Wii

The Wii's motion controls are the main selling point for the video game console, as they allow you to act out the game with your hands rather than pressing buttons. But before you can get into a game, you must synchronize your wireless Wii Remote with the console. After completing the one-time synchronization process, the controller automatically connects to the console whenever you start up the system.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the Wii Remote and the Wii.

    • 2

Flip open the Wii's door below the power button. Notice the red sync button.

    • 3

Take off the Wii Remote's battery cover, located on the back side. The red sync button is positioned beneath the cover.

    • 4

Push the Wii Remote's sync button, positioned below the batteries.

    • 5

Push the Wii's sync button, located above the media card slot inside the console's front cover. The Wii Remote's lights will start flashing, indicating a sync is in progress. When the lights stop flashing, the console and Wii Remote are synced.
