How to Make a Bunch of Bells on City Folk

"City Folk" is the "Animal Crossing" expansion for the Nintendo Wii. In this game, you are a resident in a town full of animals that are your neighbors. You are the only human in the town, but the animals act like people, wear clothes, write letters and have houses. Bells are the currency used in "Animal Crossing," and the more bells you have the more you can buy, save and donate. You can collect bells in a multitude of ways and repeat this on a daily basis so that you can keep on accumulating them.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the town's Lost and Found and the Recycling Bin for items. You can search the lost and found by asking Booker, a dog guard at the town gate. You will find the recycling bin in the town hall. Items -- such as stationery, furniture and clothing -- are often left in the bins. Take any items you find and sell them to Nook at Nookington's for bells.

    • 2

Hit the rocks around the town with a shovel. When you tap them with your shovel, you may find that a bag of 100 bells pops out. This will not happen every time, but keep hitting to get multiple bags from a single rock. Pick up the bags of bells and add them to your bank.

    • 3

Shake the trees. There are two types of trees: normal trees and ones with fruit. Both types are beneficial. Tap each tree to shake it -- bags of bells may fall out. Collect the fruit when it falls out and sell it to Nook -- fruit is worth 100 bells each and will regrow on the tree.

    • 4

Collect seashells. Pick up all the shells you find down the shore line and take them to Nook to sell for bells.

    • 5

Collect fossils by digging a hole with your shovel wherever you see a crack in the ground. Take any fossil you get to Blathers to find out what type it is. Take the identified fossil to Nook, who will give you a decent amount of money ranging from 1,000 to 6,000 bells.

    • 6

Use your fishing pole to catch fish in both the ocean and river. Cast your line near a shadow in the water and wait for the fish to bite. Tap to pull the fish in once the sinker goes under. Sell the fish to Nook for bells -- the price ranges, depending if the fish is common or rare.

    • 7

Collect bugs. Tap the bug while holding your net to catch the bug. Sell the bugs you collect to Nook for bells -- like fish, a bug's value depends on whether it is common or rare.

    • 8

Help your fellow neighbors or visitors. Deliver letters or presents and they will reward you with bells or items. Give neighbors items they ask for and get a reward -- if it is an item, sell it to Nook for bells.
