How to Change the Flash on the Visual Boy Advance GX

Visual Boy Advance GX is a Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance emulator for the Wii. If you have a modded Wii, you can download the emulator and play Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance roms, copies of actual game files, on your Wii console. To save on the Visual Boy Advance GX, you need either an SD card or a flash drive. If you want to change the flash drive you use to save or store games, you need to place some folders on the device with your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the flash drive to which you want to change in your computer's USB drive.

    • 2

Create two new folders on the root of the flash drive by selecting "Folder" from the "File" menu.

    • 3

Name one folder "vbagx/roms" and the other folder "vbagx/saves." Place any roms into the "roms" folder that you want to play. Place any saves into the "saves" folder that you want to load. Make sure the roms are in ".gb", ".gbc" or ".gba" format. The saves will be in .sav format.

    • 4

Take the flash drive out of your computer and place it in your Wii. Turn on the Wii and launch Visual Boy Advance GX from the Homebrew menu.

    • 5

Select the flash drive and select the game ROM you want to play. Click "Start."
