How to Add Netflix to the Wii

Netflix allows users to stream movies and TV shows through their computers, DVRs and gaming consoles, including the Nintendo Wii. In order for your Wii to access and stream content from Netflix, it must be connected to the Internet. Also, you must download the Netflix application to your Wii, rather than accessing Netflix through your console's browser.

Instructions

  Sign up for a Netflix account on their website, Netflix.com. If you already have a Netflix account, continue to step two.

  Access the Wii Shop Channel on your Wii console. Your Wii must be connected to the Internet in order to do this. If your Wii doesn't have an active Internet connection, it will prompt you to connect it now.

  Choose Netflix from the Wii Shop Channel. Netflix may show up on the recommended downloads on the front page of the Wii Shop Channel. However, if it doesn't, choose "Start Shopping" and search for Netflix manually.

  Click the "Free" button on the details page for Netflix in the Wii Shop Channel to download Netflix.

  Select "Wii System Memory" as your download location. Follow the onscreen prompts to initialize your download.

  Navigate back to the Wii menu once your download is complete.

  Select the Netflix channel from your Wii menu. A code is displayed along with instructions on how to activate your Wii with Netflix.

  Use your computer to navigate to netflix.com/activate. You must be logged into your Netflix account to get access to this page.

  Enter the code displayed on your TV screen from your Wii into the input box provided on your computer and select "Activate."

  Wait while Netflix activates your Wii console. This may take several minutes. Once activated, your Netflix queue and Netflix's library are available on your Wii.
