Instructions
Purchase a new remote skin for the Wii from a third party. While Nintendo currently offers silicone skins in colors that include pink, blue and white, other companies offer glow-in-the-dark, shiny chrome and decal-style covers that can put a literal shine on your remote. Start at a site such as System Skins -- which offers chrome plating for your remote, or Decal Girl -- which offers custom decals for your remote.
Remove the current silicone skin (if applicable) from your Wii remote by pulling down on the bottom portion of the skin and pulling away from the remote. When the bottom is pulled off, simply slide the rest of the skin off the remote.
Open the packaging for your new Wii skin cover.
Remove any adhesive backing for your new skins.
Adhere the new skin to the remote's front (or top, where the majority of the buttons are located) by placing the adhesive side down on the remote, taking care to place the holes in the skin over the corresponding holes on the remote. Press firmly. Rub your fingers over the skin to remove any air bubbles.
Adhere the two sides and back skin portions to their corresponding parts of the Wii remote.
