Mute Button
Press the "MUTE" button on the remote control associated with the Vizio TV. Press the button until the mute icon appears in the upper left corner of the screen. The mute icon is a speaker with a red circle around it and a red line through it. Press the "MUTE" button again until the red circle and red line are removed from the speaker.
Vizio Volume
Press the upper half of the volume button on the remote associated with the Vizio TV. A blue bar appears along the bottom of the screen. If there is no or very little yellow extending from the left side of the blue bar, the volume is very low or turned all the way down. Press the upper part of the volume button repeatedly until the yellow bar extends at least a few inches from the left side of the blue background or you start to hear audio coming from your Vizio TV speakers.
Vizio Speakers
Make sure your TV speakers aren't turned off. Press the "MENU" button on your remote to open the Vizio menu in the lower left corner of the screen. Select "HDTV Settings," "Audio" and then "TV Speakers." If the TV Speakers setting is turned to OFF, switch it to ON.
Surround Sound
If you run your Vizio TV audio through surround speakers, ensure the surround sound speakers are turned on and set to play audio from the correct input. Alternatively, if your Vizio TV is connected to the surround sound system via an optical cable, make sure the surround sound system is set up to play audio from the optical input. Also, make sure the audio on the surround sound system is turned up.
Audio Cables
Make sure the audio cables running from the Wii to the Vizio TV and from the TV to an external surround sound system are firmly pushed into place and not loose. Loose connections can result in no audio feed making its way from one device to the other.
