How to Get Out of Dark Beauty Castle Mad Doctor Lab on Epic Mickey

Dark Beauty Castle is the very first level of "Epic Mickey." You begin the game in the Mad Doctor's lab, then learn some basic moves and controls along the way. You won't get Mickey's main tool, his paintbrush, until you complete the tutorials in this level. The game begins with Mickey strapped to the Mad Doctor's table. This sequence is animated, and you won't have the option of controlling Mickey until he breaks the restraints on his own. Once he breaks free, you can begin the level.

Instructions

  When Mickey is released from the table, run to the right side of the screen. Climb the ramp to the second floor.

  Speak to the Gremlin waiting by the ramp. Gus the Gremlin will tell you that you must destroy the control panels in the lab to escape.

  Use Mickey's spin attack to smash both control panels. To use the spin attack, position Mickey next to the control panel, then shake the Wii remote. After you destroy the second panel, a room will be revealed on the first level of the castle.

  Visit the newly revealed room to pick up your first collectible pin and your paintbrush. Return to Gus, who will tell you how to use the paintbrush.

  Complete a tutorial on using the paintbrush. The tutorial is in a corridor right next to Gus, and you will practice using paint and thinner. Once you exit the corridor, your paintbrush will be active.

  Use the paintbrush to destroy the Blotlings guarding the exit to Dark Beauty Castle. Hit the Blotlings with a burst of paint or thinner to get rid of them, then use paint on the gears near the ceiling. The door will open, and Mickey will be able to escape the castle and enter the next level.
