How to Access the Wii Remote

The Wii remote control has settings separate from the Wii's general settings that you can access through the Wii menu. Change the remote's volume settings, which is the speaker built into the remote control; alter the vibration setting, which vibrates the remote control during certain parts of a game; or re-establish the Wii remote's wireless connection to the Wii.

Instructions

  Press the "Home" button, which has a picture of a house on it, in the middle of the Wii remote control. The Home menu appears on the TV screen.

  Move the cursor over "Wii Remote Settings" on the bottom of the screen and press the "A" button. A picture of the Wii remote control appears on the left side of the screen with settings that you can adjust.

  Hold the cursor over the "+" or "-" buttons in the Volume row and press the "A" button to raise or lower the remote control volume.

  Move the cursor over "On" or "Off" in the Rumble row and press "A" to turn the remote control's vibration function on or off.

  Select "Reconnect" in the Connection row to reset the connection between your Wii remote control and the Wii. This is useful if the remote control is not working properly.

  Move the cursor over "Close Wii Remote Settings" to close the remote control settings screen.
