How to Install & Resync a Wii Remote

The Wii Remote is the primary controller for the Nintendo Wii. It is shaped in the form of a bar and has all of the buttons necessary for most games. The primary function of the Wii Remote is its motion controls which are supported by the majority of Wii games. For the Wii Remote to function properly, the Sensor Bar must be connected and positioned, and the Wii Remote must be synchronized with the Nintendo Wii. If a Wii Remote is connected to a different Wii, it must be re-synced.

      Press the "Power" button on the front of the Wii to turn it off. Connect the Sensor Bar to the red port on the back of the Wii. Position the Sensor Bar so that it is facing towards you.

      Press your thumb into the latch on the bottom of the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote. Open the battery cover and insert two AA batteries. Press the "Power" button on the front of the Wii to turn it on.

      Open the "SD Card Slot Cover" on the front of the Wii. Press the red "Sync" button. Press the red "Sync" button in the battery compartment of the Wii Remote. The lights on the Wii Remote will flash and stabilize when the controller has been synced. Replace the battery cover.
