On Animal Crossing: City Folk How Do You Get Pears and Oranges?

You can grow orange, pear, apple, cherry and peach trees around your town in "Animal Crossing: City Folk." Each town has a single native fruit. At Tom Nook's, native fruit sells for 100 bells, and non-native fruit sells for 500 bells. If the pear or orange is not your native fruit, you can get them as gifts from the villagers. The fruit can then be planted in the town to grow on its own.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy all the stationery Tom has for sale. Each stationery costs 160 bells, except the elegant paper, which costs 800 bells. If you have purchased stationery before, order it from the catalog.

    • 2

Highlight the stationery in your inventory. Select the "Write Letter" option. Choose the recipient and compose a letter of at least one sentence to every villager.

    • 3

Find an item for every letter you wrote. Attach the items to all your letters. For example, you could attach the hippie shirt to a letter you write to Dotty, the peppy rabbit.

    • 4

Speak to Pelly in the Town Hall. Select every letter in your inventory to send. Once you have chosen every letter, select "Send."

    • 5

Check your mailbox every day. The villagers will send back the letters, and some will give you foreign fruit. If none of the villagers give you a pear or an orange, continue to send them letters until they do.
