How to Buy Stuff From People on Animal Crossing: City Folk

There are a variety of places to buy furniture and other items in "Animal Crossing: City Folk," including the homes of your neighbors. If you are coveting a special cabinet or statue and can't find it in any of the shops, you can purchase the item from your neighbor, provided you participate in a special event. The event happens only once a month, and it is the only way you can buy stuff from your neighbors.

Instructions

  Wait until a date for the Flea Market has been announced. The Flea Market happens toward the end of every month and is announced one day in advance.

  Visit your neighbor's house on the day of the flea market.

  Talk to your neighbor. He will ask you if you want to buy anything. Select "Yes!" and begin looking around his home. When you find something you like, click on it and your neighbor will tell you whether or not it is for sale. If it is for sale, he will tell you its price and provide you with an option to accept or decline his offer. Select "I'll buy!" to purchase the item.
