Turn on your Nintendo Wii console, and wait for the dashboard to load up. Check to ensure your Netgear router is turned on.
Select the "Wii" button in the bottom-left corner of the screen, and then choose "Wii Settings."
Click on the arrow on the right side of the screen, and then choose the "Internet" option.
Select "Connection 1" and then choose "Wireless Connection." If you have an Ethernet cable running from your router to your Wii console, select "Wired Connection."
Select "Search for Access Point." Then select your Netgear router from the list of search results.
Enter the security key for your Netgear router. This is the password you have assigned to your network to prevent people from gaining unauthorized access. Click on the "OK" button, to complete the connection process.
