How to Get Fruits in Animal Crossing

"Animal Crossing: City Folk" lets players build their own town where they can socialize with animal villagers and forage for bugs, fish, fossils or fruit. Each town in "Animal Crossing: City Folk" contains an indigenous "native fruit." To obtain different fruits to plant into fruit trees, you can send a letter to villagers or friends with your native fruit attached.

Instructions

    • 1

Stand in front a fruit tree, pressing the "A" button to shake the fruit off. Native fruit like apples, cherries, oranges, pears or peaches grow on any fruit-bearing tree in town. Press the "B" button while standing near a fruit to pick it up. Picking up the fruit sends it to your inventory; select the inventory icon at the bottom of the screen with the Wii Remote to open your inventory.

Open your inventory and select a pack of paper. You can purchase packs of paper from Tom Nook's shop for 160 Bells. Choose your paper of choice and select "Write a Letter" from the paper pack's sub-menu. Compose a letter to any of the villagers in your town, making sure you mention the word "fruit" within the letter. Select the names of friends and villagers from your friends list to compose letters. You can choose villagers' names from the first tab marked with a house icon and friends' names from the second tab marked with a right arrow pointing to a house.

Select "Done" with the Wii Remote's pointer to finish your letter; choose the "Preview" option to review your letter before finishing. Return to your inventory and click the letter icon at the top-right corner of your screen. This icon opens your "Letters" inventory, which houses sent and unsent mail. Click on a fruit in your bottom inventory and hold down the "A" button to drag it to your unsent letter. Close both inventories using the "B" button.

Head to your Town Hall to find the Mail counter. You can send letters to your town, another town or even your "future self" through the Mail counter. Talk to the receptionist, selecting the "Send Mail" option when prompted. Choose your town's name or "Another Town" at the sub-menu. Highlight your letters with the Wii Remote to select them; click the confirm button to send them. You can write as many letters as you'd like to your villagers, attaching a fruit to each in order to get more than one fruit.
