How to Defeat King Dedede in Kirby's Epic Yarn

In the 2010 game "Kirby's Epic Yarn" for the Nintendo Wii, you must maneuver the rotund pink character through a series of levels that bring yarn and other textiles into the gameplay. At the end of Level "6-5" you will face off against King Dedede, who comes after you with a variety of attacks. In this boss battle you will win after removing the four buttons holding Dedede together. This will allow you to advance to the next level, Space Land.

Instructions

- 1
  Dodge King Dedede as he jumps and swings a hammer. After the hammer hits the ground, two yarn stars will pop out of the turf. Use Kirby's yarn whip to lasso one and hit King Dedede with it.

  Avoid King Dedede as he leaps into the air and then rushes at Kirby from above. You can jump onto his back at this point to reveal two puppet strings held on by buttons. (Two more will be revealed as the battle continues.)

  Use the yarn whip to tear off a button and free one of the strings.

  Dodge the flying creatures called Gordos that now appear. Several will hover above and then fall to the ground. King Dedede will also slam the ground and create a shockwave. Before the shockwave gets to Kirby, hit it with the yarn whip to create a yarn ball, which you can throw at King Dedede.

  Jump on King Dedede again after you weaken him with the yarn ball, and yank a second button with the yarn whip. King Dedede's attack will intensify now, with greater speed and more Gordos.

  Turn Kirby into a weight after stunning King Dedede a third time and then jump on the boss. This will make a third string and button appear. Take it off with the yarn whip. Repeat the process one more time after weakening King Dedede to knock out the fourth and final button and string to end the fight.
