How to Set the Fishing Pole in the Strike Video Game

Fishing can be a fun way to get outdoors, but the weather makes it impossible to get out on the water every day of the year. If you want to go fishing but can't, the "Bass Pro Shops: The Strike" video game is the next-best thing. This game for the Nintendo Wii puts you in control of a virtual fishing environment with a rod-shaped controller. You need to set up this controller before you can play.

Instructions

    • 1

Separate the two pieces of the fishing rod controller. At the larger end of the rod portion is a black prong. Align this prong with the hole at the top of the handle portion of the controller. Press down on the rod portion until the prong clicks into place in the handle.

    • 2

Press the circular button on the back of the fishing pole controller to unlock the cover. Once the cover is unlocked, slide it off the controller. Insert the Nunchuck portion of the Wii controller into the opening so that the joystick fits into the bottom of the cup inside.

    • 3

Turn the crank handle on the rod controller to ensure it moves without getting stuck or making noise, then place the cover back on the rod controller. Wrap the cord from the Nunchuck around the spindle at the end of the rod controller. When it is wrapped around almost completely, attach the cord to the input at the bottom of the Wii remote control.

    • 4

Insert the Wii remote into its cradle at the bottom of the handle of the fishing rod controller. Push it in with the sensor side first, then push down on the tab at the bottom of the compartment. While the tab is pressed down, slide the bottom portion of the controller into the compartment and it will click into place. The fishing pole is now set and ready for use with the game.
