How to Free Roam in the Tundra on MH3

Capcom's "Monster Hunter Tri" (commonly referred to as "MH3") is a role-playing game available for Nintendo's Wii console. Players hunt, capture and battle enormous monsters in a variety of lands including woods, deserts, volcanoes and tundra. Resources can be gathered and small game hunted by roaming these areas. While the player can freely roam the Moga Woods at any time, to access the other areas the character must initiate a Harvest Tour quest.

Instructions

Village Mode

  Unlock Level 5 quests by completing all preceding quests.

  Go to the Guild Sweetheart located at the left side of Moga Village. Position yourself in front of the Guild counter so that the red communication icon is over the Guild Sweetheart's head. Push the "A" button to talk.

  Push down on the directional pad to highlight the Level 5 quest scroll and push "A." Highlight the "Harvest Tour: Tundra" quest and push "A." Push "A" again to confirm and initiate the quest.

  Proceed left down the dock. Push "A" at the end of the dock to depart on the quest.
City Mode

  Unlock Level 3 quests by completing preceding quests to raise your Hunter Rank.

  Travel to the Tavern at the far end of Loc Lac City. Position yourself in front of the Guild counter so that the red communication icon is over the Quest Receptionist's head. Push the "A" button to talk.

  Push down on the directional pad to highlight the Level 3 quest scroll and push "A." Highlight the "Harvest Tour: Tundra" quest and push "A." Push "A" again to confirm the selected quest.

  Select the number of teammates for the quest if playing with other online players. Create a password if you want to lock the quest from others. Initiate the quest by highlighting "OK" and pushing the "A" button.

  Proceed up the stairs on the left. Push "A" at the top of the stairs to depart on the quest.
