My Intec Dance Mat for Wii Is Not Working

Interactive dancing games such as "Dance Dance Revolution" became so popular in the arcade it was only a matter of time before they came to gaming consoles, including the Nintendo Wii. They accomplished this transition by manufacturing a pad that connects to the console and is rolled out on your floor in front of your TV. You stand on this pad and perform the dance moves on it when prompted during gameplay. If you are having problems with your Intec dance mat it is likely a problem that won't take long to fix.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Wii and make sure a game disc is properly inserted into the drive slot on the front of the system. Also make sure the game you are playing is compatible with the Intec dance pad. You can find the compatibility info on the case of the game or in the instruction manual.

Check the back of the Wii and ensure that the pad cable is plugged securely into the USB port on the back of the Wii console. If this doesn't work proceed to the next step.

    • 3

Unplug the pad and lay it out flat on the floor. Place a board or other flat panel firmly over the surface of the pad. This will help remove any creases or folds that may prevent gameplay.

    • 4

Check the pad and wiring for any visible damage. It is possible there could be a short in the pad's USB cable and if this is the case you would need to replace the pad.
