Tetris Party Games

Beginner Games

• Tetris Party includes modes specially designed for beginners to the game. The blocks are bigger than the standard and the play area smaller. The Tetriminos for beginner games consist of two or three blocks in a row and a L-shape of three blocks. Tetris Party has modes such as "Beginner's All Clear Sprint" -- where players must obtain 20 perfect clears as quickly as they can -- and "Beginner's Tetris Marathon" -- a beginner's version of traditional Tetris.

Wii Balance Board

• The Tetris Party version for Wii includes a traditional mode of the game using the Wii Balance Board to control the Tetriminos, through leaning and squatting. Other games using the Wii board include a three-minute game where the player aims to achieve the highest score possible, called "Balance Ultra," and a mode versus the computer.

Multiplayer Games

• Various multiplayer modes exist for both DS and Wii. In "Co-op Tetris" the two players work together on the same area, double the size of a normal matrix, while in "Duel Spaces" the players compete for space in the play field. For more than two players, there are modes such as "VS Hotlines," where players compete to reach the target line first; "VS Sprint," with other objects other than the Tetriminos; and "VS Battle," with additional magic items.

Variations

• Variations on the traditional Tetris include those using courses, such as "Stage Racer," and creating paths, such as "Field Climber," where a small character must travel to the top of the puzzle before the player advances to the next level. The game "Shadow" involves placing the Tetriminos in a particular shape and introduces new Tetriminos within the 30 rounds.
