How to Hook Up a Wii Remote to a Computer

The Wii remote is a wireless network (Wi-Fi) device. When you connect your Wii remote to your computer, you can select programs, stroll through a list of files and control the volume on a video on your computer. Setting up your Wii remote is simple.

      Plug your USB Bluetooth device into the USB slot on your computer.

      Click the "Windows" button and choose "Control Panel."

      Turn on the Wii remote. Press "1" and "2" simultaneously on your Wii remote. Select "Add A Device" under "Hardware &Sound." This will put your remote into Bluetooth mode for your computer to detect it. Look to see if your Wii remote is blinking at the bottom. This will tell you if it's ready for setup.

      Click "Add A Device" under "Hardware &Sound." Your computer will automatically look for your Wii remote through Bluetooth.

      Click "Next" when your Wii remote icon appears on the screen to connect your remote wirelessly to your computer. Choose "Don't Use A Passkey." Click "Next."

      Wait for your computer to install your Bluetooth device while you hold the two buttons on your Wii remote. Click "Finished" and you're done.
