"Mario Kart Wii," for the Nintendo Wii, features a variety of different control schemes. Players can play with the included Wii Wheel, with the classic controller, or by using the Wii remote and Nunchuk. Depending on the control scheme you use, certain moves are performed differently, such as the wheelie when your character is on a motorcycle. When a wheelie is performed, your character gains a boost in speed, making this is a necessary technique to know. Performing a wheelie on the Wii remote and Nunchuk requires interactions on both controllers.

Lift up the Wii Remote while driving to perform a wheelie. Your character lifts the front wheel of the motorcycle into the air and gains a speed boost.

Use the analog stick on the Nunchuk to steer the motorcycle. While performing a wheelie, your character cannot make quick turns, so beware of obstacles.

Lower the Wii remote to stop performing a wheelie, reverting back to regular driving speed.
