How to Catch the Goron in Twilight Princess

Catching the Goron rolling down the hill on the Death Mountain trail near Kakariko Village is part of the main story line of the Wii and Gamecube game "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess." It takes a little more effort to complete this task than it would originally seem since it's part of the natural progression of the game. You will need to get the Iron Boots to catch the Goron.

Instructions

  1. Getting the Iron Boots

    • 1

Head back to Kakariko Village from the Death Mountain trail. You'll encounter a cut-scene and get Link's horse, Epona.

    • 2

Jump on the horse and follow the on-screen instructions, moving the joystick the direction indicated and then press the "A" button.

    • 3

Head back through Hyrule Field and Faron Woods to get to Link's home village, Ordon. Go to the mayor's house once you reach the village where you'll encounter another cut-scene in which he teaches Link how to sumo wrestle.

    • 4

Practice until you can beat the mayor. The mayor will give you the Iron Boots after you beat him.

    Head Back to Kakariko Village

    • 5

Ride back to Kakariko Village on the horse. You will see a cut-scene where children are being attacked when you reach the village.

    • 6

Follow the monster on horseback after the cut-scene ends. Attack the monster until he leads you into a duel on a large bridge in a new section of Hyrule. Slash the monster twice as you duel to knock him off the bridge.

    • 7

      Head back to Kakariko village.

    Catching the Goron

    • 8

Head up the path to Death Mountain and climb the net leading to where you encounter the Goron.

    • 9

Equip the Iron Boots to your D-Pad so you can quickly put on and remove them.

    • 10

Equip the Iron Boots and start up the hill. Use the sumo techniques the mayor taught you to get past the Goron.

    • 11

Take off the boots and continue up the mountain. Repeat the process as Gorons come rolling down the hill.
