How to Stack Magic in Echoes of Time

Two of the skills that Magic-adepts, such as Yukes, Clavats, Selkies and Lilties, can use in "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time" are Magic Stack and Ring Lock. Both of these passive skills are used to stack magic spells during battles. Stacking magic spells of the same type transforms them into more powerful spells. For example, stacking two Fire spells makes Fira, stacking three makes Firaga and stacking four makes Firaja. There are also "recipes" for stacking magic to create entirely new spells such as Haste, Meteor and Ultima.

Instructions

    • 1

Gain new levels with your character to increase your Ring Lock and Magic Stack skills. Ring Lock allows you to stack magic attacks by yourself and with others, while Magic Stack relates to how many spells can be stacked. For example, if you have Ring Lock 4 and Magic Stack 5 -- both of which can only be learned by Yukes -- you can cast a total of five spells on a single target.

    • 2

Target an enemy and select a spell that you want to cast. Place the magic ring over the enemy and lock it -- press "A" for the Wii and "L" for the DS. Depending on your level, you may be able to lock more spells onto the target. You must lock a spell before you can cast another to stack the magic. If you have Ring Lock 2, you can lock two spells before casting a third.

    • 3

Cast your final spell. This works just like casting a single spell on an enemy. Once the final spell is cast, all of the locked spells will be cast simultaneously, thus stacking the effect. For example, if you have Magic Stack 4 and Ring Lock 3, then cast Fire, Blizzard, Thunder and Raise in any order, the spells would stack and cast Meteor instead.
