How to Get a Lot of 1 Ups on the New Mario

"New Super Mario Bros. Wii" for the Nintendo Wii requires patience and strong gaming skills as you traverse a variety of landscapes to make your way to World 8 and Bowser's castle, where you must rescue the kidnapped Princess Peach. You'll need plenty of extra lives for the quest and, like many "Mario" games, this one features some places where you can 1-Ups easily. The best stage to earn plenty of extra lives is in World 3-2.

Instructions

Trapped Shell

  Grab a turtle shell by stomping on a turtle and holding the "1" button as you start World 3-2.

  Run to the place where two cannons are positioned near each other and toss the turtle shell in between them.

  Jump up on top of the question block to ensure your safety. Now, you can watch as the shell continues to slide between the cannons and you will earn extra lives as it takes out the Bullet Bills that fire out of the cannons.
Floating Yoshi

  Find Yoshi in a question block just before the midway point of the stage. You will need to jump off of a Bullet Bill to reach the platform with the block above it.

  Move past the midway point marker to the point where four cannons shoot Bullet Bills from each side of a gap.

  Jump on a Bullet Bill and use the "2" jump button to hover so you can jump on another bullet. Repeat this process to earn as many 1-Ups as you desire.
