How to Do a Drum Challenge on Band Hero

Band Hero is a party and family oriented game in the Guitar Hero series. It comes with a mic, guitar controller, and drum set. The drum set features a stand with one foot pedal, three drum pads, two snare pads, and a Wii controller hook-up. A drum challenge is when a drummer plays solo in the midst of a group game, or while alone. Drum challenges can be performed at any difficulty level: easy, medium, hard, expert, and expert plus.

Instructions

    • 1

Start the game and choose a play mode: Career, Quick Play, Multi-player, or Training. You can perform a drum challenge in any of these modes. However, the Career track takes you through every song and builds up character points. Choose that option to practice many drum challenges in a row.

    • 2

Choose a difficulty level and song from the set list. What constitutes a challenge on the drums depends on a player's skill at that instrument. Choose a skill that would be a challenge for you. If you've played Guitar Hero or Band Hero before, choose a skill above medium. If you're a professional musician, choose a skill above hard. Choose a song at the beginning of the set list for an easier drum challenge, or choose a song further down the list for a harder challenge. The screen should load and show the venue, after you've selected the difficulty and song.

    • 3

Precisely hit the appropriate drum pad, snare, and foot pedal when the corresponding colored note reaches the colored pad on screen. The colored pad on screen corresponds to the colored pad on the drum set in front of you. The red is the leftmost pad; blue is the middle pad; green is the right pad; yellow is the left snare; and orange is the right snare.

    • 4

Continue to hit the scrolling colored notes exactly when they overlap the colored pads on screen, until the song ends. Check your score. Try to get a high score to succeed at your drum challenge, then play the song again at a higher difficulty setting.
