How to Make Creative Miis

One of the central features of the Nintendo Wii is the ability to create a digital avatar. Called a Mii, the avatar can be used as playable characters in many Nintendo video games, such as "Wii Play," "Wii Sports," "Wii Sports Resorts" and "Mario Kart." The Mii is stored in the Mii Channel, where users can create additional avatars and share them with friends. Users can make creative Miis that are based on friends, family and famous people.

  Turn on the Nintendo Wii to access the Wii's main menu. Hover over the Mii Channel and press "A." .

  Select the "New Mii" icon on the left side of the Mii plaza screen. Select a gender to begin the process. Nintendo will provide a generic face. Players can edit the face and clothing.

  Create Miis based on family members, friends or celebrities. With the subject in the room, or using a reference photo, edit the face so it looks like the subject. Use the icons at the top of the screen to access face-related features such as head shape, hair, eyes, ears and nose. Change the size, spacing, color and angles of the face using options in the toolbox, located in the middle of the screen.

  Click the icon in the top-left portion of the screen. In the spaces provided, enter the name, birthday and favorite color of the Mii. Hit the "Quit" button to finish editing. When prompted, click "Save."
